NSCDC Officer Reportedly Kidnapped

An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reportedly been kidnapped in Ekiti State, with a disturbing video circulating online showing the victim being brutally beaten by his captors.

The viral footage was shared on social media by activist and commentator Rinu Oduala, who alleged that the officer was abducted by terrorists. According to her post, the victim was filmed while being assaulted, and as of the time of her statement, there had been no visible rescue operation launched by security agencies.

“A NSCDC officer has been reportedly kidnapped in Ekiti, Nigeria by terrorists who released this video brutally beating him. Till now, security agencies are yet to launch a search for him,” she wrote.

In the video, heavily armed men, believed to be terrorists, were seen ordering the abducted officer to face forward before repeatedly flogging him with a cane. The victim appeared visibly distressed, crying and pleading for mercy as the assault continued.

“I don dey look. Sorry, I use Allah beg you,” the officer was heard saying in pidgin English while the attackers continued the beating.
