The Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ekiti, Mr Solomon Iyamu, has directed the deployment of 1,200 personnel across the state to ensure hitch-free Sallah celebration.
Iyamu gave the directive in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer,(PRO), Mr Tolu Afolabi, on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti.
He ordered his officers and men to maintain water-tight security of lives and critical national assets across the state before, before, during and after the celebration.
“We have deployed over 1,200 officers and men for a water-tight security in all praying grounds in the state, especially in this sallah period.
“The security arrangement also covers protection of lives and property of Ekiti residents as well as all critical national assets in the state,” he said.
The NSCDC boss appealed to the general public to hint the command of any suspicious person or group that might want to rupture the existing peace in the state.
He further urged Muslim faithful to pray for Ekiti and Nigeria in general for stability, peace and unity.
