
Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation is to partner Abia State First Lady’s Vicar Hope Foundation to help visually and hearing-impaired people in the state.
Dr Olalekan Makinde, who led OOF’s team to Umuahia for discussions with VHF, said the programme would feature free eye screening, free ear screening, free glasses, about 500 free surgeries and electronic hearing aid for the beneficiaries.
According to him, Abia is the only state in the South -East that will benefit from the intervention.
The group invited VHF to the First African Congress on Sickle Cell Disease organised by Dr SickleCell – Center for Sickle Cell Disease in association with OOF from October 31 to November 2 in Lagos.
Nkechi, wife of Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, represented by the Assistant Secretary, Board of Trustees of VHF, Chika Ojiegbe, expressed the foundation’s readiness to partner with OOF.
