A close associate of Nigerian businessman and nightlife entrepreneur, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has alleged that the socialite was pressured into aligning with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the pro-government ‘City Boys’ Movement.
Speaking to Eaglet, Chidi Mike, who described himself as a close friend of the businessman, claimed that Obi Cubana faced serious pressure before publicly supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 political season.
According to him, the businessman allegedly had to make a difficult decision at the time due to circumstances surrounding his businesses and personal freedom.
Mike said he was initially upset when Obi Cubana joined the ‘City Boys’ Movement and began campaigning for Tinubu, but later learned from family sources that the move was made under intense pressure.
He further alleged that the socialite may soon distance himself from both the ‘City Boys’ Movement and the APC, claiming he is already exhausted by the ongoing political situation.
