The Ogun State Government will need N26bn to complete the abandoned 32-kilometre Sango-Agbado Expressway.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, said this in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kunle Somorin, on Tuesday.
The road was started by the administration of former governor Ibikunle Amosun, but was abandoned by contractors.
Akinsanya said the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun was aware of the challenges brought by the deplorable condition of the Sango-Agbado Expressway, adding that the government was committed to addressing the hardship being faced by all road users in the state.
According to the statement, the commissioner on Friday inspected the road and other projects.
“In all, a total of N26bn is what we need to get the job completed for the three contractors on the Sango-Agbado Road,” he said.
Akinsanya added that the state government was working out modalities on the continuation of the abandoned road project.
