The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), has conferred the prestigious title of Okanlomo Oodua on Chief Dotun Sanusi, in recognition of his commitment to the cultural and economic advancement of Yorubaland.
The honour was bestowed during the unveiling of 2GEDA, Nigeria’s first indigenous social media and business networking platform, held at the Ilaji International Hotel and Sports Resort, Ibadan.
Chief Sanusi, while expressing gratitude, described the recognition as a profound honour. He commended the Ooni for his kind words and encouragement, noting that the title further strengthens his resolve to contribute to the socio-cultural and economic development of Yoruba land.
Speaking on the platform, Chief Sanusi highlighted that 2GEDA represents more than just social interaction. According to him, it is a transformative tool designed to empower local businesses, elevate entrepreneurs, and showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage to the world.
“I am thrilled to partner with Mr. Emeka Eze on this innovative journey, bringing our unique Nigerian experience to the digital space. 2GEDA is not just about connecting; it’s about empowering our local businesses and showcasing our rich heritage. Let’s embrace this new dawn for our digital ecosystem,” he stated.
The platform, now live on both the App Store and Google Play Store, aims to combine social networking with business opportunities, providing a homegrown alternative to foreign-owned social media apps.
The event marks a new chapter in Nigeria’s digital economy, blending technology, culture, and entrepreneurship in one initiative.
