The Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has held an emergency meeting to address recent internal tensions and reaffirm the party’s unity and commitment to justice, fairness, and national inclusion.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, said the meeting became necessary in light of recent developments within the party.
He described the PDP as a resilient party that has weathered many challenges and continues to stand firm on its founding principles.
Senator Wabara acknowledged the misunderstandings among some members but said those differences do not define the party.
He emphasized that the Board of Trustees remains committed to promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and unity ahead of the 2025 elective National Convention.
The BOT Chairman further urged members to put aside personal ambitions and work together for the collective interest of the party.
He noted that Nigerians are looking to the PDP as a credible alternative capable of addressing the nation’s challenges, including insecurity and economic hardship.
Senator Wabara called for a renewed sense of purpose, forgiveness, and collaboration among all stakeholders.
He also announced that the Board will engage closely with the National Working Committee, the Governors’ Forum, and the National Assembly caucus to ensure a smooth, credible, and unifying convention in Ibadan.
