The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has constituted a 12-member caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party in Adamawa State following the resignation of the former state chairman, Hamza Bello, alongside members of the state executive and other party officials.
The committee, which has a 30-day mandate, will be chaired by Engr. Belmon Dogo, with Shekarau Yerima serving as secretary. The development comes in the wake of the mass resignation of the state party leadership, who subsequently defected to the All Progressives Congress APC.
Addressing journalists at the party secretariat in Yola, the newly appointed caretaker chairman, Belmon Dogo, called for unity among party members across the state. He assured supporters that the PDP remains strong, focused and committed to democratic values and good governance despite the recent developments.
