The race to who would take the mantle of leadership in the upcoming presidential election has begun. Every tribe seems to be working very hard to make sure the next president of Nigeria would come from their tribe.
The Igbos have always have this feeling about been marginialised when it comes to taking the mantle of leadership in Nigeria. They are prepared to stop this, and to take the mantle of leadership by the year 2023. Several meetings have been held concerning who would represent the igbo in the coming presidential election.
According to Vanguard news, Former Presidents – General from over 2000 autonomous communities in the five South East states endorsed, Professor Peter Umeadi as Igbo candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
Professor Peter Umeadi was the former Chief Judge of Anambra State. Vanguard news further reported that the National president of the association, Nazi Omeife Omeife explained that with the endorsement, all the autonomous communities in South East would start to spread the message.
The truth remains that, it is not by selecting an Igbo tribe to be the president of the country, it is selecting one who can truly handle the affairs of the country, and take this country to the next developing level. I would rather stick with a Northern president if he can take the country to another developing level, than stick with an Igbo presidency who is not capable to run the affairs of the country.
I hope Professor Peter Umeadi is a capable representative if selected.
