The Enugu State Police Command has directed its men and officers to arrest persons violating the ban on the use of motorcycles within Enugu metropolis. It reminded members of the Public that the ban was still on and directed its operatives to impound motorcycles of violators. In a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, he said that “the Enugu State command of the Nigeria Police Force wishes to remind members of the public that the ban on the use of motorcycles within Enugu metropolis is still on as they are further reminded to continue to be law- abiding. “The commissioner of police Sulaiman Balarabe has directed security operatives to fish out those in the violation of the ban and impound their motorcycles and ensure diligent prosecution of persons involved. In the same vein, the command is also reminding members of the public that the clampdown by operatives on vehicles with tinted glasses without permit and those covering their vehicle number plates as well as the use of siren without authorisation, is still in progress. “The commissioner of police has directed security operatives to ensure diligent prosecution of offenders,” Amaraizu said.
