Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly criticised nightlife promoter Cubana ChiefPriest over his recent warning that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu risks losing support in the South-East in the 2027 elections if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not released.
Reacting to the statement, Portable accused Cubana ChiefPriest of prioritising personal gains during his meetings with the President rather than advocating for the release of the detained IPOB leader.
He said:
“Cubana ChiefPriest, when you met with President Tinubu, did you ask him to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? It seems you were only there to chase contracts and protect your personal interests. Boko Haram and other terror groups have been attacking Nigerians long before Tinubu became President, so at this point only God can truly save this country.”
Cubana ChiefPriest had earlier stated that Tinubu would “never get up to 10,000 votes in the South-East in 2027” unless the Federal Government releases Nnamdi Kanu, describing the IPOB leader as the “supreme leader of the South-East.”
The exchange adds to rising tensions following renewed calls for Kanu’s release amid widespread concerns over insecurity and governance.
