Pupils of Ugwuoye Primary School in Nsukka Local Government Area in Enugu State were left stranded on Wednesday after heavy rainfall caused a nearby river to overflow, flooding the entire school premises.

The floodwaters, which rose rapidly during school hours, trapped nursery and primary school children in their classrooms, leaving teachers and parents scrambling to ensure their safety.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with pupils unable to leave and many wading through knee-deep water to reach dry ground.
