American singer Ray J has reportedly filed a countersuit against Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, alleging that all parties mutually agreed to film and release their infamous 2003 sex tape a direct contradiction to the long-standing narrative that the video was leaked without Kardashian’s consent.
According to new court filings cited in reports, Ray J claims that the “leaked tape” storyline pushed by the Kardashians over the years is false and damaging. He alleges that both Kim and Kris were fully involved in the planning, production, and distribution of the footage, which became public in 2007.
Ray J also asserts that after the tape became a global controversy, the parties reached a settlement worth $6 million, agreeing that neither Kim nor her family would publicly discuss the tape again including on their reality shows.
However, the musician argues that the Kardashians violated that agreement multiple times by revisiting the scandal in various episodes of The Kardashians and other media appearances, thereby causing him renewed reputational harm.
Due to the alleged breach of their agreement, Ray J is now seeking $1 million in damages.
