The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ngozi Nma Ordu, has reportedly fallen out with Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara following her recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a development that has exposed deep, HIDEEN cracks within the government house.
According to highly placed sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, the rift arose after Governor Fubara allegedly urged the Deputy Governor to DEFECT TO ADC for strategic reasons, while he himself purportedly planned a tactical alignment with the APC. The alleged move, sources claim, was intended to create the impression of supporting the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu AND SECURE A RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL, while covertly FUNDING THROUGH THE DEPUTY GOV AND advancing the interests of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Sources further allege that Governor Fubara had earlier directed key political allies, including former Minister of Transportation, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, former Governor Sir Celestine Omehia, Austin Okpara, and other members of the Simplified Movement, to remain within the ADC as part of a broader political strategy.
However, Prof. Ordu was said to have rejected the proposal, reportedly viewing it as a deceptive political manoeuvre. Rather than MOVE TO ADC TO BE A PLACE-HOLDER FOR FUBARA, the Deputy Governor chose to formally defect to the APC, a decision that allegedly angered the Governor and further escalated tensions between both offices.
It was also gathered that Prof. Ordu made it clear that she would rather resign her position than be compelled to work against the sitting President or participate in any covert political arrangement allegedly orchestrated by Governor Fubara.
