RIVERS LG Poll: Accord Party supporters shot as Wachukwu demands investigation

As the local government election is ongoing across the local council areas in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, a Councilorship Candidate on the platform of Accord Party AP, Hon. Seagal Chigonum Wachukwu has cried out over alleged attack on his supporters at polling unit 16 Rumuokwurusi by political thugs.

Wachukwu said violent attack and inavailability of results sheets hindered the exercise not holding at the all polling units in Ward 3, Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.

The Accord Party Councilorship flagbearer, in a chat with newsmen, on Saturday, in Port Harcourt, called on the State government and the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RSIEC to look into the incident, insisting that no election was held in Ward 3 in Obio/Akpor LGA.

He further called on security agencies in the state to investigate the unwarranted attack on his party members and teeming supporters so as to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.

His words, “the election in Ward 3 Obio did not hold because no result sheet in all the pulling units.

“Two of my supporters were shot at pulling unit Mr Orowho Wali and Mr Wodi Amadi at unit 16 Rumuokwurusi.

“I call on the River State Government and RSIEC to look into all the crisis.

“Election did not hold in all the Pulling units.

“I call on all the Security agents to get to the root. I track the culprits for this dastard act”.
