Kenyan President William Ruto addressed the United Nations General Assembly, highlighting the exclusion of Africa from permanent membership on the UN Security Council, stating that it is not only unfair but also undermines the institution’s credibility.
Ruto emphasised that Africa continues to bear the heaviest cost of global instability, yet remains sidelined in decision-making at the highest level of international peace and security.
He further called for reform of the United Nations to make it more equitable and agile in responding to global crises.
