Security forces rescue four abducted illegal miners in Zamfara, others still in captivity

Atleast four abducted youths were rescued following a swift joint operation involving the troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, police personnel, members of the Civilian Protection Group (CPG), and local hunters.

Akelicious was informed that the incident occurred on June 17, when eight boys from Alasanawa village in Moriki District, Zurmi Local Government Area, were reportedly abducted by armed bandits while engaging in illegal mining activities in Alawa bush, near the notorious Hawan Bakwai black spot.

The operatives engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, successfully rescuing four of the abducted boys while efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining four victims still held in captivity.
