The Senate has emphasized the need for the Federal Government to look inward and device an home grown solution to preventing the scourge of Malaria in the country.
Not only that, the Red Chamber equally decried the lip service being paid to curtailing the rampaging effects of Malaria by successive administrations in Nigeria.
Akelicious reports that Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, while speaking with Senate Press Corp reiterated the need for a locally produced malaria vaccine and a structured national approach to eradicating the deadly disease.
He stressed the importance of Nigeria developing its own vaccine production capabilities rather than depending on foreign solutions.
The senator who stressed that individual efforts alone cannot achieve the goal of eliminating the disease, called for government action, private sector investment, and global partnerships.
According to him, Health experts believe that establishing a local vaccine production system will be a game-changer in Nigeria’s fight against the disease.
