The Senate Committee on Finance has withdrawn its earlier resolution seeking the removal of the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, following his appearance before the panel at the National Assembly.
At the committee sitting on Tuesday, Magaji addressed concerns raised by lawmakers and tendered an apology over issues that led to the initial decision.
The move to reconsider the resolution was raised by Senator Jibrin Isa and seconded by Senator Nasir Sani Zangon Daura, prompting the committee to rescind its February 26, 2026 resolution.
Lawmakers said the decision was taken in the interest of institutional collaboration, mutual respect and a shared commitment to transparency, accountability and improved service delivery between the National Assembly and the Corporate Affairs Commission.
Magaji assured the committee of improved cooperation and better communication with the legislature going forward.
