Senator Ekwunife hosts PDP Anambra Central Stakeholders meeting

Ahead of Saturday’s State House of Assembly election, the Senator-elect Anambra Central, Senator Uche Ekwunife and other Anambra Central stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held an interactive session to review the outcome of the February 23rd election and strategize for the State Assembly polls.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Ekwunife while thanking party faithfuls for the ovewhelming support they gave PDP in the last election urged party members not to relent in their efforts in promoting the PDP brand in the State.

Speaking further, Ekwunife noted that the PDP is more than ever before committed to injecting vibrancy into the State’s governance structure. She assured that with the continued support of stakeholders of the party in the State, the party will unequivocally have a good outing in the State Assembly election on Saturday.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu thanked the party faithfuls for their belief in the PDP. He noted that the Party will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that they reclaim the mandate given to them freely by Nigerians in court. Chief Nwobu assured party faithfuls that the PDP in the State is today better positioned to meeting the yearning of Nigerians.

On his part, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP in the February 23rd election, Mr Peter Obi assured the gathering that the PDP is fully committed to reclaiming their mandate in court.

While thanking the people of Anambra State for their support in the last election, Obi noted that Anambra State needs a robust House of Assembly.

Reacting to claims that the PDP wants to take over the State Assembly to impeach the Governor, Obi noted that the essence of a State Assembly is to guide the Governor and improve the quality of governance. He dismissed any plan of impeachment, noting that such will destabilize governance in the State.
