In line with his “open-door” policy, the Senator representing Imo North, Senator Frank Ibezim has called on the good people of Okigwe Senatorial zone and her well wishers for a collaborative effort in order to champion the project “New Okigwe”.
The Senator who was recently sworn in by the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Lawan, to serve under the 9th assembly swung into action in order to bridge the gap suffered by the zone during the period without a representative.
“There is no time to waste on frivolities as one legislative year is already gone for the 9th assembly. Having being sworn in, I have fully commenced my legislative duties, representing my good people of Okigwe Senatorial zone, Imo State and Nigeria at large. I have commenced a holistic review of possible legislative approaches to the benefit of my people and I would champion it all till our desires are actualized. I would operate an open door policy for this is democracy and every suggestions and call to order, by anyone, towards the actualization of this project would be accommodated” the Senator said.
The Senator hinted on the projects expected of him to attract to the zone. He expressed dissatisfaction over the neglect the zone has suffered under the past administrations however, acknowledged the impact and commitment of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in bringing development to Okigwe by way of infrastructural building; manpower growth; agricultural expansion; educational institution sighting and most importantly, restoration of power to the people.
Senator Frank called on all who may have idea, advice and proposals on how the “New Okigwe” project could be a success, to not feel reluctant in approaching his office for such, irrespective of social and political affiliation. The Senator stressed that his open door policy would never be compromised because, there is need to synergize for the greater interest of developing the zone.
In expansion of his idea, he stressed that not only bringing idea is contributory to the project but also, supporting the projects by way of shunning activities tantamount to destabilization within the zone and also, by aiding in anyway the sustenance of security within the zone. He stressed the importance of continous support to the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in his developmental strides across the state.
The Senator went on to state that his constituency offices across the zone would soon be up and running in order to swiftly bridge the gap between the people and their senator.
“Okigwe is ours and ours we shall develop together” said the Senator.
