It was a week of remarkable milestones in Kogi Central Senatorial District as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan embarked on a series of impactful initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare delivery in the region.

The Senator officially flagged off the construction of two new modern markets in Okene and Okehi Local Government Areas, a project set to boost local commerce, create job opportunities, and enhance the socio-economic fortunes of rural traders and entrepreneurs within the district.

In a bold move to support digital education and capacity building, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also distributed 700 brand-new computers to the African African American Mission College (AAAMC), Okene — formerly the prestigious Premier Secondary School of the old Kabba Province. This intervention, according to stakeholders, will bridge the digital divide and empower students with essential ICT skills.

The Senator further paid an inspection visit to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, to assess the newly installed multi-billion naira state-of-the-art GE’s Revolution Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner — a high-end medical diagnostic facility donated by the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). The scanner is expected to significantly improve diagnostic services for patients in Kogi State and beyond.

Speaking during the visits, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude for the support and goodwill of the people, emphasizing that these projects reflect her commitment to grassroots development and people-centred governance.

“It was all laughter and prayers of and for goodwill from ordinary people desirous of, yet celebrating the simplest things in life. I’m honoured to be a vessel for positive impact,” she remarked.

The events, marked by enthusiastic turnouts, showcased the communal spirit of Kogi Central, with residents, traditional leaders, and community associations commending the Senator for her proactive representation and dedication to the welfare of the people.
