-CHARGES APC LED FG TO CHANGE STYLE
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has warned against imminent collapse of the country over insecurity if nothing was done urgently to avert the danger.
Senator Anyanwu therefore charged the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government to change style of governance, saying that the party’s old method of administration had become moribund.
According to him, “nothing in Nigeria is working again, not even human lives and properties are spared. It is annoying that a country that is blessed with many natural resources is increasing pump price of petroleum at will. Nothing is stable, price of goods rises up and never comes down in Nigeria.”
“Another menace is the spate of insecurity across the six geopolitical zones in the country. No one sleeps with his/her two eyes closed. The society is tensed and charged over possible uprising anytime, any day. Civil Servants, Pensioners and the masses are crying. Not only that civil servants and pensioners are yet to be paid, hunger and starvation had risen to a high proportion”
Anyanwu, an erstwhile Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions further expressed regret that while the APC led government was busy showcasing her audio achievements, Nigerians on the other hand were dying in droves over hunger and starvation.
Senator Anyanwu therefore reminded the APC and President Buhari of their campaign promises to rescue Nigerians, adding that their conducts had shown that they were not prepared before grabbing power.
“APC and her then Presidential candidate, President Buhari had assured Nigerians of their commitment to raise their standard of living, construct good road network, offer quality education and improve on agriculture. Today, all their promises have become mere deceit to hijack power. Today, Nigerians have been raped, shattered, dehumanized and abandoned.” He said.
Senator Anyanwu however appealed to Nigerians to remain firm on their commitment to enthrone good governance, and assured that the PDP would not leave any stone unturned in bringing a radical change by 2023.
