A Nigerien military vehicle jumped on an improvised explosive device (EEI) off N’guigmi locality in the southeast of the country, local security sources have learned. The blast has claimed the life of at least one soldier and injured several among the SDFs, some of them in serious condition.
N’guigmi, a border town near Lake Chad Basin, is an area where armed groups affiliated to Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP) multiply attacks and trapped explosives on the Nigerian Defence and Security Forces as well as civilians.
