The Mayor flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ayamelum Local Government Area, Amb. Mgbechi Emmanuel Igwebuike (Evang), has commended Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for what he described as a transformative and inclusive style of governance that is empowering women and youths across the state.
In a statement, Igwebuike said the Soludo administration has redefined leadership in Anambra by deliberately integrating women and young people into key decision-making positions, noting that such inclusiveness had been largely absent since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999.
He observed that from the beginning of his first term, the governor created opportunities for youths with innovative ideas to actively contribute to governance, while also recognizing the strategic importance of women in driving sustainable development.
According to her, the governor’s ongoing second term has further demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity through bold and strategic appointments that prioritize competence over age or gender. She described the appointments as “far-reaching decisions aimed at harnessing the best talents to advance the state’s long-term development vision.”
Igwebuike particularly highlighted the recent appointment of the first female Secretary to the State Government in Anambra’s history, describing it as a landmark achievement and a strong signal of the administration’s dedication to gender equity.
“This milestone is not just symbolic; it reflects a deliberate policy direction that places value on capacity, vision, and service. It has inspired renewed confidence among women and youths, encouraging greater participation in governance and public service,” he said.
The APGA mayoral candidate added that the ripple effects of such inclusive policies are already evident in the increasing number of women and young leaders stepping forward to contribute to community and state development.
He maintained that the Soludo-led government is not only addressing present challenges but also laying a solid foundation for the future through investments in human capital and the implementation of its long-term development framework, Anambra Vision 2070.
“As the Solution Agenda continues to unfold, Anambra is steadily rising on the pillars of inclusiveness, innovation, and visionary leadership,” Igwebuike stated.
