Soludo’s Re-Election: Deji Adeyanju Says Obi Supporters Have Been “Taught Politics 101”

Political activist Deji Adeyanju has taken a swipe at former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi following Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s emphatic re-election victory in Anambra State.

Soludo, who won by a wide margin across the state’s 21 LGAs, defeated candidates from major parties including the Labour Party, whose candidate finished fourth. Adeyanju said the outcome was a clear message to those who had vowed to “teach Soludo a lesson” because he did not support Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

In a post shared on social media, Adeyanju argued that Soludo’s victory demonstrated a deep understanding of political realities in Anambra. He referenced the 2023 presidential election, noting that Obi lost his own polling unit to APC candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that the APC went on to place second in Anambra, while the party Obi backed in the current governorship race performed poorly.

Adeyanju described the situation as “politics 101 the Nigerian way,” asserting that political influence in the state does not rest with social media sentiment but with established grassroots structures.
