South African Police have arrested a female suspect following the hijacking and killing of an e-hailing Nigerian driver in Pretoria West.

Authorities say the incident occurred on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, when the driver was allegedly attacked inside his vehicle.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victim was targeted by a male and female pair who had requested an e-hailing ride, during which the vehicle was reportedly hijacked.

The hijacked car and the victim’s body were later discovered in Atteridgeville later that same day.

Police confirmed that dashcam footage and witness accounts are being reviewed as part of an ongoing investigation.

The female suspect is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, facing charges that include hijacking and murder.

A manhunt is underway for the second suspect, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
