President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring economic prosperity for all regions of Nigeria, a commitment highlighted at a recent celebration in Imo State. Speaking on behalf of the President, Minister of Works, Senator Nweze David Umahi, stated that the South-East holds a key position in the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

At the 25th anniversary of the reign of His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. E.C. Okeke, Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Institutions, Umahi praised the monarch as a leader of great integrity.
The Minister pointed to several ongoing projects as proof of the President’s commitment, including the Onitsha-Enugu road, Owerri-Aba road, and the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

He also mentioned the Enugu-Abakaliki dualization and the ambitious Calabar-Abuja Renewed Hope Legacy project, emphasizing that the South-East has never been this included in the nation’s political and economic landscape.

As he called on the people of the South-East to show their solidarity with the Tinubu administration, the Minister called for unanimous support for the President’s re-election in 2027, stressing that the region’s inclusion is a testament to the government’s genuine intentions.

In his remarks, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the President’s representative and other dignitaries. Uzodimma, speaking on behalf of the South-East Governors, congratulated Eze Dr. E.C. Okeke on his milestone, commending his leadership and integrity as the Chairman of the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers.
