Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised President Bola Tinubu following the acceptance of the resignation of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Reacting shortly after the presidency confirmed Egbetokun’s resignation, Sowore said the President should never have appointed him as IGP in the first place, describing the decision as an avoidable error.
“You have no choice. You should never have appointed Kayode Egbetokun as Inspector-General of Police in the first place,” Sowore stated.
He further took a swipe at the President, adding that Nigerians would, in due course, also “accept” Tinubu’s resignation, insisting that history would judge his administration as one marked by poor judgment and preventable mistakes at the highest levels of leadership.
