Speak Up or Stop Collecting Tithes — Man Blasts Pastors for Silence on Hardship Under Tinubu

Man

A young Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after openly criticizing religious leaders over their silence on the current economic hardship facing the country.

In a viral statement shared on March 29, 2026, the man condemned pastors who continue to collect offerings and tithes from struggling congregants without addressing the worsening economic conditions under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

According to him, it is wrong for clergy members to receive as much as 10 percent from poor worshippers while failing to speak up about issues such as rising hunger, insecurity, and the high cost of living. He insisted that religious leaders have a moral responsibility to use their platforms to advocate for the welfare of their members.

The man further warned that pastors who remain silent despite the prevailing hardship would face consequences, expressing frustration over what he described as a lack of empathy from some religious figures.
