Human rights activist and political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has sparked fresh debate about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet after describing some members as “ghost ministers.”
In a post titled “The Ghost Ministers of Tinubu – Part 3”, Adeyanju listed four ministers who, according to him, have maintained a very low profile since their appointments. They include:
- Abubakar Atiku Bagudu – Minister of Budget and Economic Planning
- Balarabe Abbas Lawal – Minister of Environment
- Yusuf Maitama Tuggar – Minister of Foreign Affairs
- Uche Nnaji – Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology

Adeyanju queried whether many Nigerians are even aware that these individuals currently serve in Tinubu’s cabinet, stressing that their silence contrasts sharply with the critical roles their ministries play in national development.
His remarks have triggered conversations online, with many citizens expressing surprise and admitting they were unaware of some of these ministers’ identities or activities.
Observers note that while some ministers such as Wale Edun (Finance), Festus Keyamo (Aviation), and Nyesom Wike (FCT) have remained in the public eye through frequent media appearances and policy announcements, others have been largely absent from public discourse.
