President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday acknowledged the challenges and criticisms he faced early in his tenure, saying they ultimately strengthened his resolve and inspired teamwork within his administration.

Speaking during an Iftar dinner with members of the House of Representatives at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu reflected on the initial difficulties of implementing his vision.

It was very difficult at the beginning for people to realize the direction of my thinking… you collaborated and joined together as a team, you just gave me inspiration to move on because the heat was high voltage from the critics, but today we are better off for it,” he said.

The President’s remarks highlight his appreciation for legislative cooperation despite early political pressure. Observers noted that the dinner served as both a gesture of goodwill and an opportunity to reinforce collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government.

Tinubu’s administration has faced criticism on various fronts since assuming office, but he emphasized that these challenges have driven the team to achieve greater results for the nation.

The event also provided an opportunity for lawmakers to engage with the President in a relaxed setting during the holy month of Ramadan.
