
Tourists in Dubai have reportedly been forced to spend nights sleeping on mattresses in hotel basements and underground parking garages amid fears of further strikes.
Guests at the five-star Five Palm Jumeirah hotel in Dubai told Russian outlet SHOT that they were abruptly woken in the middle of the night and instructed to evacuate to lower levels of the building.
According to the reports, hundreds of temporary sleeping spots have been arranged in basements and parking areas, with mattresses laid out across the floors. Food and water distribution points were also set up to support guests taking shelter.
Several families with young children were seen bedding down in the makeshift spaces as air raid alerts were reportedly sent directly to residents’ smartphones. Authorities have urged people to take immediate shelter during alerts due to fears of further potential attacks.
The situation has left many tourists shaken, with some describing scenes of confusion as hotel management scrambled to move guests to safer areas. Officials have yet to release a comprehensive statement detailing the scale of the threat or how long precautionary measures may remain in place.
