U.S. President Donald Trump has called on House Republicans to vote in favor of releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, insisting the party has “nothing to hide” and should not be distracted from its core political agenda.
In a strongly worded statement he said he made “Friday night aboard Air Force One,” Trump dismissed the renewed focus on Epstein as a “Democrat Hoax” designed by “Radical Left Lunatics” to deflect from what he described as the Republican Party’s recent achievements.
Trump claimed the Department of Justice had already released “tens of thousands of pages” related to Epstein and suggested that investigators were reviewing the involvement of several prominent Democratic figures. He maintained that the House Oversight Committee should receive any documents it is “legally entitled to.”
Despite the ongoing political debate around the case, Trump urged his party to avoid being “used” and refocus on issues such as the economy, inflation, border security, and conservative cultural positions, which he said are resonating with voters.
“Let’s start talking about the Republican Party’s record-setting achievements, and not fall into the Epstein trap,” Trump said, framing the controversy as a political disadvantage for Democrats rather than Republicans.
He concluded the statement with his signature slogan: “Make America Great Again!”
