Youth under the aegis of Udenu Youth Forum have applauded the decision of the member representing Udenu/Igboeze North Federal Constituency, Hon. Denis Agbo, to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it will enhance further development in the constituency owing to the similarity between his leadership style and that of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah of Enugu State.
The youths, who had visited the federal lawmaker a fortnight ago, begging him to rejoin the party, described him as an innovative leader who understands the rudiments of grassroots development that provide positive impacts on the people.
Speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Thursday after the defection of the lawmaker back to PDP, the former Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Enugu State Chapter, Comrade Paschal Nnaemeka Ugwu, said what prompted their visit a fortnight ago to Hon. Agbo’s house was as a result of the need to call for him to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has an entrepreneur as her leader in the state in the person of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah.
He stated that Hon. Denis Agbo’s first tenure was one that brought numerous developments in the constituency such that almost all the sectors were touched, including human capital development.
According to him, “Hon. Denis Agbo has shown through his projects and policies that he truly understands the challenges of the ordinary people. From educational support to road rehabilitation and youth empowerment, his leadership resonates with the developmental spirit of Governor Peter Mbah.”
“We believe that a strategic return to the PDP will give him more room to actualize his plans for our people. The PDP in Enugu State, led by a practical leader like Governor Mbah, is development-oriented and people-centered.”
Comrade Ugwu also said he is of high hope that Hon. Agbo’s return to PDP will also benefit both the constituency and Enugu State as a whole; adding that Udenu youth will give him the needed support.
“We are ready to stand by him and give him the necessary backing in PDP. Our concern is for the progress of Udenu and Igboeze North, and we are confident that aligning with the party in power at the state level will boost this cause.”
“The youths are watching and we are determined to support any leader who prioritizes development and inclusiveness. Hon. Denis Agbo is such a leader, and we hope he makes the move.”
On his assessment of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah’s administration, he described Governor Mbah as a leader who has used works to surprise and shock everyone in the state.
“Governor Mbah came into office with clear plans and he is executing them with energy and vision. His investment in infrastructure, digital economy, and education has changed the pace of development in Enugu State.”
“We have not seen this level of commitment in recent times. Governor Mbah is focused, creative, and results-driven. That is why we see a strong alignment between his leadership and that of Hon. Agbo.”
Comrade Ugwu also called on other political leaders to borrow a leaf from the governor’s approach to governance, describing it as people-friendly and development-conscious.
