Former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in the pursuit of peace, unity, and brotherhood, stressing that these values remain the foundation for the survival and progress of the country.

In his goodwill message to Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Ugwuanyi urged citizens to reflect on the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers who fought for freedom, and to continue working together to preserve the gains of independence.

He noted that the celebration of Nigeria’s independence is not just a reminder of the struggles of the past, but also a call to duty for present and future generations to commit themselves to building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous nation.

“Peace, unity, and brotherhood are the pillars on which this nation was founded. As Nigerians, we must rise above divisive tendencies and embrace what binds us together as one people under God,” the former governor stated.

He urged leaders at all levels to always put the interests of the people first and to strive towards policies that promote peace and development.

“As we mark this 65th Independence Anniversary, let us remind ourselves that the future of Nigeria lies in our hands. We must choose unity over division, peace over strife, and love over hate. That is the only way to honor our heroes past and guarantee a brighter future for generations to come,” he concluded.
