Chief Mrs. Uju Edochie has reacted to the recent expulsion of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), urging him to accept the decision with grace and consider joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In her statement, Edochie noted that Wike holds the unusual distinction of being the only Nigerian politician to receive a “certificate of expulsion” from his party. She described the gesture as symbolic of his rejection and advised Wike to move on.
“The only honorable thing for Wike to do now is to pick his certificate of expulsion with gallant grace and move fully into the APC,” she said.
Edochie further warned that Wike should avoid overextending his influence or engaging in battles he cannot win, cautioning that his “corrosive influence may no longer be tolerated for too long.” She added that he should focus on areas where he can make a meaningful impact, rather than assuming dominance over party structures.
Her remarks come amid ongoing speculation about Wike’s political future following his break with the PDP, with analysts suggesting a potential alignment with the APC as a plausible next step.
“A word for the wise is enough,” Edochie concluded, underscoring her advice for Wike to reassess his political strategy and alliances.
