Kaduna State has received a major international boost as the United Kingdom removed it from the travel “Red List” and upgraded it to “Amber,” citing improved peace and security.
The recognition follows consistent strides under Governor Uba Sani’s Kaduna Peace Model, which emphasizes dialogue, reconciliation, and community trust-building.
At the Government House in Kaduna, Governor Sani and the UK’s Development Director, Ms. Cynthia Rowe, signed a new Mutual Accountability Framework to deepen cooperation in governance, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
The UK acknowledgement, the governor says, is a strong signal that Kaduna is open for tourism, business, and investment.
For years, Kaduna was among Nigerian states restricted by the UK due to insecurity that disrupted livelihoods and stalled development.
Other states on the red list include Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Katsina, Zamfara State and five
The riverine states such as Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.
