… Enumerated all the Firsts that Umahi has scored since becoming the Governor of Ebonyi State
Government officials, Civil servants, artisans and members of the general public have continued to pour accolades and encomium on the performing governor of Ebonyi State, Apostle Dave Nweze Umahi, over the commencement of the implementation of the new minimum wage in the state for the benefit of Ebonyi workers.
Attributing the success of the implementation to effective and prudent management of resources for general good, Technical Assistant (TA) on Media to the Governor, Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze, described the move as a welcome development, stressing that Ebonyi workers are the first in the entire South East to reap the fruit of the new salary regime. She maintained that the new minimum wage will effectively impact on workers’ welfare and boost their morale for effective input in the smooth pilot of the ship of state through the workforce.
Recall that Gov. David Umahi had earlier directed that workers’ salaries be paid with the new salary structure adopted between Organized Labour in the state and government with effect from January 10, which was properly implemented to the glory of God.
Monica quoted the Governor as saying that the early payment was to aid the workers commence the New year in good note after the spending they may have done during the yuletide and to ensure that the school materials of their children are well catered for.
In a press statement issued and circulated to media houses in Abakaliki, the State capital of Ebonyi State, Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze, highlighted that her boss and the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Apostle David Nweze Umahi (FNATE, FNSE), the Lion of South East and Chairman of South East Governors’ Forum is a great achiever with several awards in diverse areas, including the best performing governor in Nigeria. His infrastructural revolution has turned Ebonyi State into one huge construction site and Tourist Centre.
Lady Monica Chidinma Ada Eze, who also doubles as the Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akuburoah Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), further posited that the governor’ s magnanimity and kind gesture also applied to government appointees, as members of the state Executive Council, and other officials of the state government were all paid their January salaries on January 10.
Lady Monica, Aka Ada Ebonyi, commended the Governor for his giant strides in all spheres, notwithstanding the fact that Ebonyi is neither an oil producing state nor among the highest receivers of federal allocations. She described the governor as one of the bastion and beacon of hope for a better and greater Nigeria.
By achieving this, Umahi has added yet another feather to his overcrowded cap, as this adds to him becoming the first Governor in the entire South East to have constructed at a straight, over six gigantic flyovers with gigantic Viewing Centres which are among the longest in the entire nation.
Apart from these feats, he places himself as the only Governor of a State to have built the largest and best Ecumenical centre, a place of worship in the entire West African region.
Apostle Umahi has truly distinguished himself as the Road Master and best Infrastructural provider among his peers in the country.
Apart from setting up the construction of an International Olympic seize stadium, he is also constructing an International Airport and International Market that will make Ebonyi State not only the commercial hub of South East but the investors haven.
This man of vision according to Lady Monica have turned Abakaliki the State capital of Ebonyi State into one of the most beautiful and decorated State capital in Nigeria with beautifully designed watet-falls adorning most of the roundabouts, colourful streetlights, Traffic Lights and one of the most innovative and biggest Light tunnel in Nigeria.
Monica is full of praises for her uncle and boss, Apostle Umahi for his style of governance as he has made Ebonyi, a non-oil producing State with little resources available for governance through the invaluable projects embarked upon by the State Government as seen today in all the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.
Monica pleads with Nigerians to join her in encouraging Gov. Umahi, a new face of democracy, who by his ingenuity and administrative acumen has adopted a zero oil agenda to drastically reshape the State’s economy through diversification which is yielding good results.
According to Lady Monica, Gov. Umahi has decided that Ebonyi State will become the commercial hub for agriculture, industrialization and solid minerals development within the South East. To achieve this the governor is improving critical areas of socio-economic development to attract international and local investors to fast track economic development in the entire facet of governance in the South East state.
