The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) security team has arrested three students for violating the recent ban on “signing off” activities. The university management had earlier announced the ban, effective immediately, due to concerns over safety and security.
Despite the ban, some final-year students attempted to circumvent the rule by having friends sign on their shirts after their exams. However, security operatives took swift action, storming a hall and apprehending two female students and one male student involved in the activity.
The university’s management has emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment on campus. Students found participating in or organizing “signing off” activities risk facing severe disciplinary measures, including possible rustication. The management urges students to focus on their academic pursuits and adhere to the rules and regulations.
