Nigerian social media personality, VeryDarkMan , has shared his experience in Turkey, where he was surprised to see guns being openly sold in shops to citizens who have proper licenses.
VDM said he was amazed that people in Turkey can walk into a store, buy a gun legally, and use it for personal protection. This made him start thinking about Nigeria’s security situation, especially in communities that have suffered attacks in the past.
He suggested that if Nigerians were allowed to own guns legally, under strict government regulation and licensing, it could help people protect themselves better. VDM believes that if communities are well-armed with licensed guns, criminals and violent groups would be less likely to attack them.
He made it clear that he is not encouraging violence or misuse of weapons, but rather calling for a controlled system where responsible citizens can defend their homes and families if necessary.
His opinion has sparked a lot of reactions online, with some people agreeing that it could help improve security, while others are worried about the possible risks.
