Nigerian activist and social media influencer, VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologized to members of the Igbo community, especially those in business, following backlash that trailed his recent trip to China.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media page, the outspoken critic said his intention was never to attack or target any particular tribe or group, but to expose issues within the business sector.
“I want to use this medium to tender my unreserved apology to some Igbos, especially those in business that feel I am targeting them, those that feel like I hate them. My trip to China has caused a lot of controversy and sadly it has made some people feel emotional and attacked… I am so sorry,” he said.
VeryDarkMan, whose visit to China stirred intense debates online, maintained that the uproar surrounding his trip was a reflection of the resistance that often accompanies change.
“This is what happens when change wants to occur,” he added.
