In the video, dozens of individuals believed to be party loyalists were seen lying on mats and pieces of cloth spread across the mosque’s premises, apparently spending the night there while waiting for the political event.
According to reports accompanying the footage, the supporters had traveled from Kano to Abuja to attend activities related to the APC national convention and resorted to resting inside the mosque due to accommodation challenges.
The clip quickly gained attention online, sparking mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some social media users criticized the development and questioned why the supporters had to sleep on the mosque floor, others argued that the situation reflected the dedication of party loyalists who had journeyed long distances to participate in the convention.
The APC national convention in Abuja is expected to attract party members and delegates from across the country as the ruling party prepares to deliberate on key internal matters and strategies ahead of future elections.
