“Wike Is Rude and Disrespectful — He May Even Insult Tinubu Next,” Says Reuben Abati

Veteran journalist and political analyst Reuben Abati has criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over his recent outburst against former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, describing Wike as “rude and disrespectful.”

Reacting to Wike’s comments during a media chat where he blasted Amaechi for saying he is “hungry like many Nigerians,” Abati said Wike had crossed the line by insulting someone widely regarded as his political mentor.

“Rotimi Amaechi is his boss in politics,” Abati said. “Who will Wike not insult? From the way things are going, he has even shown signs that he might insult President Tinubu next.”

Wike had dismissed Amaechi’s remarks as a power-hungry rant, saying, “Amaechi is not hungry for food. He is hungry for power.” But Abati believes Wike’s tone was unnecessarily combative and lacking in respect for senior political figures.
