A windstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall has caused damage to parts of the Kugbo Bus Terminal and nearby infrastructure in Nyanya, Abuja.
The incident, which occurred a few hours ago, also affected sections of the Nyanya pedestrian bridge and some buildings within the area. Despite the impact of the storm, preliminary reports indicate that no lives were lost and no vehicles were damaged.
In response to the situation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate deployment of security personnel to the affected location. The move is aimed at maintaining law and order as well as ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
Authorities have also assured residents that urgent steps will be taken to repair the damaged structures and restore normalcy in the area.
