In a strongly worded statement, celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter, Cubana ChiefPriest, has reacted to the sentencing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, issuing a blunt political warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and key leaders in the South-East.
Chief Priest, known for his influence and outspoken nature, declared that as long as the IPOB leader remains in detention, President Tinubu should not expect up to 10,000 votes from the South-East in the 2027 presidential election.
He described Nnamdi Kanu as the “Supreme Leader of the South-East,” insisting that his prolonged incarceration has caused “huge setbacks” for the region, while accusing South-East ministers serving in the current administration of lacking the courage to speak truth to the President.
He further noted that the political class from the region including governors cannot meaningfully influence public sentiment as long as Kanu remains in custody.
Chief Priest also revealed that he had previously interacted with the President and his son, Seyi Tinubu, claiming that several individuals who present themselves as political mobilizers for the government are “bags of deceit” with no influence in their hometowns due to the Kanu issue.
He expressed disappointment that President Tinubu failed to personally attend the commissioning of projects in Abia State home state of Nnamdi Kanu describing the minister who represented him as “incompetent” and disconnected from the people.
Addressing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma directly, Chief Priest warned that despite the governor’s achievements, history may judge him harshly if he fails to facilitate Kanu’s release.
In his words, “Without MNK outside, everything shall fall into pieces.”
He urged the President to appeal the judgement, emphasizing that the success of the administration in the South-East hinges on resolving the Kanu issue swiftly.
Cubana Chief Priest concluded with a stark caution, stating that the upcoming 2027 elections could spell doom for the ruling government if the matter is not handled decisively.
