Koko Community in Warri North Council Area of Delta State said they have adopted the candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for the Delta South Senatorial seat.
The community spokesman, Mr. Edward Diabo, made this disclosure at the residence of the Olare-Aja (HEAD) in-council, Chief Victor Nana when the former governor’s campaign team visited the GOGO-Maru family to formally intimate them of his intention to contest for the position of the Delta South Senatorial seat in the 2019 general elections under the platform of the APC.
He charged Dr. Uduaghan to remember Koko community when he eventually gets to Abuja and endeavor to attract Federal Government presence to Koko, the headquarters of Warri North to enable the port town bounce back to her former economic glory.
Earlier in his brief speech, Dr. Uduaghan said he came to personally confirm what they had been hearing as rumour that he wants to contest saying, “let me confirm to you that what you have been hearing as rumour is actually true. I come to seek your blessings and canvass for your votes for all APC candidates in this general election starting from February 16, 2019.”
According to him, he has gone round all major Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko communities to solicit their support and vote, saying that they should not be deceived into voting for another party that would put them in the opposition with the Federal government at the centre.
He, therefore, charged them to ensure they put their PVCs into wise use and not be intimated by anybody or group of people.
An APC chieftain and community leader in Koko, Mr. John Atumu told newsmen that the APC is set to deliver Dr. Uduaghan for Senate and Hon. David Yinka Atie for the Warri North Constituency seat for the House of Assembly, saying that they have put all the needed structure on ground to ensure victory for the party.
