In response to the criticism, Olatosho Oshoffa, the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters, expressed his disapproval of the invitation extended to Portable and Pasuma to perform at the church branch’s praise night.
He strongly condemned the decision and stated that the house of God should not be a place of entertainment.
The announcement of the praise night featuring the two singers sparked a lot of reactions on social media.
Many Nigerians found it disheartening and questioned whether it was appropriate to have such entertainment in the church.
Reacting to the controversies on his Facebook page, Oshoffa said, “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters.
“He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the nights. There is no doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”
