Two individuals, identified as Hassan Ismail and Mohammed Sani, have been apprehended in connection with the alleged murder of Mohammed Sani from Agyaragu Tofa in Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

The police revealed that the suspects, who are the deceased’s parents, killed their son based on accusations of witchcraft.

The acting Commissioner of Police in the state, Shettima Jauro Muhammed, made this announcement when parading the suspects before journalists on Monday.

He explained that the arrests were made following reliable information that the deceased, Mohammed Sani from Agyaragu Tofa, had been confined in a room, where he was left to starve to death.

The family then hastily buried him in order to avoid suspicion.

He said: “Based on credible information that one Mohammed Sani of Agyaragu Tofa was tied on both hands and legs and locked up in a room where he starved to death and was hurriedly buried by his family members on the allegation of witchcraft, police operatives attached to A Division, Lafia, swung into action and got Hassan Ismail and Mohammed Sani arrested. Efforts are ongoing to arrest all individuals involved in the dastardly act.”
