A man identified only as Chude Nnamdi has taken to social media to lament the bad state of the canopy walk bridge at the Lekki Conservation Centre, warning visitors to beware of the damaged parts.

The video, which has since gone viral, was shared on his X handle on Monday, with the caption, “Beware of these damaged parts of the Cable bridge in Lekki Conservation Centre”

The Lekki Conservation Centre is a nature reserve in Lagos, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Nigeria.

It features a 401-metre-long canopy walkway, the longest in Africa.

It includes a picnic haven, sports courts and other facilities to entertain visitors when not on the walks.

Sharing his ordeal, the man said, “I have been here many times and the previous year will be a testimony to that.

“This is 49ft above the ground, not even the ground, a swamp look at I saw, look at this. I mean if anyone get fall from here, God forbid what can happen.

“This has been there for quite a long time, this is a place known to house crocodile and all sorts.”

Reacting to the video, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gawat wrote,”IN SHA Allah … we will be there.”
